Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- nutmeg
- cider vinegar - 1 c
- allspice
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- paprika - 2 Tbsp
- black pepper
- medium onions, diced - 3 item
- green peppers, chopped - 2 item
- stalks celery, diced - 2 item
- powdered cloves
- tomatoes, peeled and quartered - 7 8
- hot red peppers, chopped - 2 item
How to make chili sauce:
Cook tomatoes with salt until tender. Skim off 2 cups liquid (for shorter cooking time). Add other ingredients and cook until thick, stirring occasionally. Pour into hot, sterilized jars and seal. Makes about 4 quarts.Recipe categories: Low protein, Condiments, etc., Main dish.
