  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • soda - 3/4 tsp
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • sifted flour - 1 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • oats - 2 c

How to make chewy oatmeal cookies:

Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg into shortening. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by teaspoons onto greased pan. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
