Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- egg whites - 6 item
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- can cherry pie filling - 1 item
- cream of tartar - 3/4 tsp
- tub Cool Whip - 1 item
- broken saltines - 2 c
How to make cherry torte:
Preheat oven to 350°. Beat 6 egg whites stiff with 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. Slowly add sugar and vanilla. Fold in saltines and nuts. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool. Spread cooled torte with Cool Whip. Spoon cherry pie filling over topping and chill 4 to 5 hours.Recipe categories: Desserts, American, Californian.
