Cherry cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• coconut - 1/2 c
• sticks margarine - 2 item
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• powdered sugar
• margarine - 2 Tbsp
• nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
• maraschino cherries - 1/2 c
• cherry juice - 2 Tbsp

How to make cherry cookies:

Icing:1 c. powdered sugar2 Tbsp. margarine2 Tbsp. cherry juice Mix softened margarine and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour, baking powder, salt, then coconut, nuts and chopped cherries. Bake for 10 minutes at 375° on cookie sheet (ungreased). Cookies will be soft when removed from oven. Mix powdered sugar, margarine and cherry juice and spread on cooled cookies.
