  • flour
  • egg - 1 item
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • active dry yeast - 2 pkg
  • warm milk - 1 c

How to make buttery pan rolls:

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Let stand until bubbly (about 15 minutes). Stir together 2 cups of flour, the sugar and salt until well mixed. Add 6 tablespoons of the melted butter, the egg, yeast mixture and milk. Beat about 5 minutes to blend well. Gradually beat in remaining 2 1/2 cups flour. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double, about 45 minutes. Pour 1/2 of remaining butter in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Beat down butter and drop by spoonfuls into buttered pan, making 15 rolls. Drizzle remaining butter over top. Cover and let rise until double (30 minutes). Bake in a preheated oven (425°) for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
