Butterscotch sauce
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- light cream - 1/3 c
- light brown sugar - 3/4 c
How to make butterscotch sauce:
Place sugar, butter, salt and corn syrup in heavy saucepan. Cook over very low heat, without stirring, until a soft ball forms when dripped into cold water. Cool slighlty. Stir in cream. Sauce will thicken as it stands. Can thin with 1 or 2 tablespoons milk or cream if a thinner sauce is desired.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low sodium, Condiments, etc..
