Buttermilk pancakes
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- low-fat buttermilk
- egg whites, beaten - 3 item
- nonstick cooking spray - 1 item
- rice bran - 1/4 c
- rice flour or all-purpose - 1 c
- fresh fruit or reduced calorie syrup - 1 item
How to make buttermilk pancakes:
Sift together flour, bran, sugar, baking powder and baking soda into a large bowl. Combine buttermilk and egg whites in a small bowl. Add to flour mixture; stir until smooth. Pour 1/4 cup batter on hot griddle coated with cooking spray. Over medium heat, pour batter to make 6-inch cakes; brown and turn over to brown on opposite side.
