  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • stick oleo - 1 item

How to make buttermilk brownies:

Boil oleo, water, cocoa and shortening. Pour mixture over combined remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 18-inch cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 350°.
