Brown sugar cookies

Ingredients/Components

• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 2 tsp
• granulated sugar - 1 c
• brown sugar - 1 c
• shortening - 2/3 c
• margarine, softened - 2/3 c
• self-rising flour
• Stir in flour

How to make brown sugar cookies:

Mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour. Turn dough onto floured countertop. Shape dough into a ball and cut in half and roll in the shape of a cookie roll. Wrap in foil and freeze. Slice and bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.Variations: For Chocolate Chip: Add 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped pecans.

For Oatmeal: Add 1 cup quick cooking oats.

For Peanut Butter: Add 1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter.

For Chocolate Nut: Add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1/2 cup cocoa.
