Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- shortening - 2/3 c
- margarine, softened - 2/3 c
- self-rising flour
- Stir in flour
How to make brown sugar cookies:
Mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour. Turn dough onto floured countertop. Shape dough into a ball and cut in half and roll in the shape of a cookie roll. Wrap in foil and freeze. Slice and bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.Variations: For Chocolate Chip: Add 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped pecans.For Oatmeal: Add 1 cup quick cooking oats.
For Peanut Butter: Add 1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter.
For Chocolate Nut: Add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1/2 cup cocoa.
