Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • egg - 1 item
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp
  • brown sugar packed - 1 c
  • white sugar to roll balls in - 1/2 c
  • shortening 1/2 margarine and 1/2 Crisco - 1 c

How to make brown sugar cookies:

Combine ingredients and roll into balls and dip into white sugar. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. They will flatten and crack as they bake.
