Best oatmeal cookies

Ingredients/Components

cinnamon - 1 tsp
vanilla - 1 tsp
granulated sugar - 1/2 c
salt - 1 tsp
nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
egg - 1 item
all-purpose flour
firmly packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
Quaker oats - 3 c
butter or oleo 2 1/2 sticks

How to make best oatmeal cookies:

Preheat oven to 375°. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg and add to mixture; mix well. Stir in oats.

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 11 minutes. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
