Banana split cake
Ingredients/Components
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- self-rising flour - 1 c
- Cool Whip - 8 oz
- can cherry pie filling - 1 item
- bananas - 4 item
- jar maraschino cherries - 1 item
- cream cheese, softened - 8 oz
- pecans, chopped - 1 c
- box vanilla instant pudding - 1 item
- stick butter or margarine, softened - 1 item
How to make banana split cake:
1st Layer: Mix together flour, butter (margarine) and pecans (mixture will be very thick and lumpy). Press mixture into bottom of 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Cool.2nd Layer: Mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1 1/2 cups Cool Whip (mixture will be very thick). Spoon and spread over 1st layer (Cool Whip on back of spoon will make spreading easier).
3rd Layer: Slice bananas; place on 2nd layer. Pour cherry pie filling over bananas.
4th Layer: Mix vanilla instant pudding as directed on box. Pour and spread over 3rd layer. Top with remaining Cool Whip (more if you like). Garnish with maraschino cherries.
