Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- bananas, mashed - 1 c
- sour cream - 3 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs, then bananas, sour cream and lemon juice. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture, stirring just to dampen flour. Fold in nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan or smaller loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove and finish cooling on a rack.
