Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 2 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- shortening - 6 Tbsp
- to 8 apples, peeled and diced - 6 item
How to make apple rolls:
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and shortening as for pie crust. Add milk and mix. Roll out about 1/4-inch thick on floured surface. Spread apples over dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar. Roll up as for jelly roll. Cut into 12 slices and place in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Boil 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 cups water. Pour over rolls. Bake at 375° until brown.
