Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • dairy sour cream - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • finely chopped apples - 2 c
  • butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
  • ground cinnamon - 1 tsp

How to make apple nut coffee cake:

Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately to creamed mixture. Fold in apples, spread batter in prepared pan.

Combine nuts, brown sugar and butter and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over batter. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
