Angel food cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- coconut - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1 c
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- colored sugar for decoration - 1 item
How to make angel food cookies:
Mix shortening and sugars until creamy; add egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Mix in sugar and egg mixture; add coconut and vanilla. Roll in small balls (the size of a walnut). Dip tops of balls into water, then in colored sugar. Press them out on ungreased cookie sheet using fork. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes. Do not overcook!
