  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • Add egg
  • milk enough for spreading consistency - 1 item

How to make angel food cookies:

Mix shortening and sugars until creamy. Add egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Then mix into sugar mixture. Add coconut and vanilla. Spread on a 10 x 15-inch cookie sheet. Bake in a 375° oven for 15 minutes or until brown.

Mix Topping and spread on top of cake.Topping:1 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla milk (enough for spreading consistency) Mix together all ingredients and spread on top of cookies while hot.
