Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- oil - 3/4 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- warm water - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Mix dry ingredients. Add shortening until well mixed. Add buttermilk and dissolved yeast. Work together until flour is moistened. Put in large mixing bowl with tight fitting lid. Put in refrigerator until ready to use. As desired, take out as much dough as needed. Roll out on floured pastry sheet to 1/2-inch thickness and cut. Bake at 400° on cookie sheet for 12 to 15 minutes, or until browned. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
