Amish pumpkin bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- flour
- water - 2/3 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 4 item
- vegetable oil - 1 c
- canned pumpkin - 1 lb
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
- salt scant - 2 tsp
- each: cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice - 1 tsp
How to make amish pumpkin bread:
Mix sugar, oil and eggs together. Add pumpkin. Then add dry ingredients, then water, stirring just until mixed. Pour batter into two greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Freezes well. May use 3 mini loaves at 40 to 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Amish/mennonite.
