Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/3 c
- vanilla extract - 2 tsp
- water - 2 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour
- finely chopped pecans - 1 c
- unsalted butter room temperature - 1 c
How to make sandies:
Preheat oven to 325°. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the water and the vanilla. Blend in the flour 1/2 cup at a time. Add the pecans and mix well. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Place them about 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 20 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
