  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • yellow cake mix - 1 pkg
  • vanilla instant pudding - 1 pkg
  • eggs - 4 item
  • cold water - 1/2 c
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • nuts, chopped - 1 item
  • butter
  • water - 1/4 c
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • dark rum - 1/2 c

How to make rum cake:

Glaze:1/4 c. butter1/4 c. water1 c. granulated sugar1/2 c. dark rum Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Mix the ingredients for the cake batter. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of tube pan. Pour batter over the nuts. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Melt butter. Stir in water and sugar. Stirring constantly, boil for 5 minutes and add rum. Leaving cake in tube pan, prick the top and pour boiling syrup over the cake.

Substitute: Chocolate cake mix and chocolate instant pudding mix for chocolate rum cake.
