  • packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • ground nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • grated lemon peel - 1/2 tsp
  • butter or margarine, melted and cooled - 1/2 c
  • sliced, peeled, ripe peaches - 6 c

How to make peach crumble:

Topping:1 c. flour1 tsp. baking powder1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg1 egg, beaten1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted and cooled Place peaches in a greased shallow 2 1/2-quart baking dish. Combine brown sugar, flour, lemon juice and peel and cinnamon; sprinkle over peaches. In a bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir in egg until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the peaches. Pour melted butter evenly over topping. Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired. Yields 10 to 12 servings.
