Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- oil - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- cans tomato paste - 2 oz
- Ricotta cheese - 1 lb
- lasagna noodles - 1/2 lb
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- onion, chopped fine - 1/2 c
- oregano, crushed - 2 tsp
- basil, crushed - 1 tsp
- ground chuck - 1/2 lb
- ground pork - 1/2 lb
- Mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced - 1 lb
- parsley, crushed - 2 Tbsp
- jar grated Parmesan cheese - 1 oz
- can Italian tomatoes, undrained - 1 oz
How to make lasagna:
Filling:1 Tbsp. salt1 Tbsp. oil1/2 lb. lasagna noodles1 lb. Ricotta cheese1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced1 (3 oz.) jar grated Parmesan cheese Make tomato sauce by slowly heating oil in a large Dutch oven. Saute onion, garlic and parsley until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Add meat and brown, stirring occasionally. Add rest of ingredients. Mix well. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 3 hours.When sauce is done, bring to a boil 3 quarts water and salt. Add oil. Add noodles, 2 to 3 pieces at a time. Cook noodles, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Drain and rinse noodles under hot water. Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Spoon 1/3 of sauce over bottom of pan. Layer 1/3 each of noodles, Ricotta cheese, Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Repeat, beginning with sauce and ending with Parmesan cheese until you have 3 layers of each. Bake, uncovered, for 45 to 50 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
