Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1 item
  • all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
  • 5 oz - 1 can
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • tomato paste - 2 Tbsp
  • lean ground beef - 2/3 lb
  • dried basil - 1 tsp
  • onions - 2 item
  • beef bouillon cube - 1 item
  • to 12 uncooked lasagna noodles - 10 item
  • Transfer to a pot

How to make lasagna:

Saute beef in a skillet in butter until it loses its pinkness. Transfer to a pot. Peel and chop onions. Saute until transparent. Add to meat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, bouillon cube, minced garlic and seasonings. Cook over medium-low heat, covered, for about 20 minutes.Sauce:1 Tbsp. butter3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour2 c. milk1 1/4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese salt and pepper nutmeg Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour. Stir to combine. Add milk, stirring. Cook for about 3 minutes until thickened. Add most of the cheese. Let melt. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Pour half of the sauce in bottom of an ovenproof casserole. Cover with lasagna noodles. Layer with meat sauce and lasagna noodles. Pour remaining sauce over the top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 400° for about 20 minutes.
