Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- carrot, grated - 1 item
- whole mustard seed - 1 tsp
- medium cabbage head, shredded - 1 item
- Let salt and cabbage stand 1 hour
How to make frozen cole slaw:
Mix salt and cabbage. Let salt and cabbage stand 1 hour. Squeeze out excess moisture. Add carrots and peppers. While this is standing for 1 hour, make the dressing.Dressing:1 c. vinegar1 tsp. whole mustard seed1 tsp. celery seed1/4 c. water2 c. sugar Combine ingredients and boil for 1 minute. Cool to lukewarm and pour over slaw mixture. Put in containers. Seal and freeze. (Can be refrozen.)Recipe categories: Salads, Vegetables, Northeastern U.S..
