Fresh apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- butter, melted - 1/2 c
- seedless raisins - 1/2 c
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- medium apples - 2 item
How to make fresh apple cake:
Peel and core apples; coarsely chop and measure 1 3/4 cups into large bowl. Add sugar; let stand 10 minutes. Sift flour; measure. Add soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Sift again. Blend melted butter and egg into apple mixture. Add flour, stirring until just blended. Fold in raisins and nuts. Pour into greased pan (8-inch square). Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool thoroughly on rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
