Cranberry nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- well beaten egg - 1 item
- grated orange peel - 1 Tbsp
- orange juice - 3/4 c
- fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
How to make cranberry nut bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg. Mix until well blended. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Turn into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack for 15 minutes. Remove from pan.
