Coconut cream pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 5 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- shredded coconut - 1 c
- egg whites - 3 item
- cold milk - 1/4 c
- milk, scalded
How to make coconut cream pie:
Blend sugar, flour and salt with the cold milk. Add scalded milk while stirring constantly. Cook slowly until thick. Add beaten egg yolks and cook two minutes longer. Remove from heat and add vanilla and coconut. Mix well; cool and pour into baked pie shell. Cool until ready to serve, then whip egg whites until stiff.
