  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter and/or margarine - 1/2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • 6 oz - 1 lb

How to make cherry crumb cake:

Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Mix with sugar. Cut in butter; add beaten egg and mix to make crumbs. Place 1/2 of crumbs in bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Distribute cherries evenly and top with remaining crumbs. Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream or other topping. Sprinkle crumbs lightly with cinnamon.
