Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- vanilla extract - 1 pod
- brandy
- thinly peeled rind of 1 small orange
- piping hot black coffee - 6 c
How to make cafe brulot:
Place sugar, orange rind and vanilla pod in heatproof bowl; bruise rind with wooden spoon. Pour brandy into small saucepan; place over low heat until heated through. Pour over sugar mixture. Ignite; stir constantly 30 seconds. Extinguish flames with hot coffee. Remove orange rind and vanilla pod. Serve in coffee cups. Do not serve with cream or additional sugar.
