- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 3 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- baking soda - 1/2 1
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- dark brown sugar - 1 lb
- large eggs - 5 item
How to make brown sugar pound cake:
Cream shortening and butter. Add sugar and cream well. Break in 1 egg at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and add vanilla and nuts. Pour in greased and floured pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until done.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Weeknight.
