Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 2 Tbsp
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch
- water - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- raisins - 1 c
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- sliced mushrooms - 1 c
- slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled - 6 item
- white vinegar - 1/4 c
- chopped red onion - 1/2 c
- broccoli florets
- large egg yolk - 1 item
How to make broccoli salad:
Salad:4 c. broccoli florets1 c. raisins1 c. sliced mushrooms1/2 c. chopped red onion6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled Dressing: Mix the egg, egg yolk, sugar, mustard and cornstarch. Mix the vinegar, water and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Whisk in the egg mixture and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add butter and mayonnaise; chill.In large bowl, combine broccoli, mushrooms, onion and bacon and pour the dressing over all. Toss the salad well and add salt and pepper to taste.
