Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/4 c
  • Bisquick - 1 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • fresh broccoli or 2 pkg
  • firm butter or margarine - 1/4 c

How to make broccoli bake:

Preheat oven to 400°. Heat 1-inch salted water to boiling. Add broccoli. Cover and heat to boiling. Cook 10 to 12 minutes; drain. Place in an ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole.

Mix soup and milk with hand beater until smooth. Pour over broccoli. Sprinkle with cheese. Mix Bisquick and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over cheese. Bake at 400° until crumbs are light brown, about 20 minutes.

Note: You can turn the oven to broil for a few minutes to give the broccoli bake a good brown color after the 20 minutes of baking.
