Braised leeks
Ingredients/Components
- bay leaf - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- white wine - 1/2 c
- whole clove - 1 item
- butter optional - 1 tsp
- to 4 large leeks, cleaned, trimmed and chopped in 1-inch chunks - 3 item
- dried thyme or 2 to 3 sprigs fresh - 1/2 tsp
How to make braised leeks:
Melt butter in saute pan and saute leeks until coated with butter. Add remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, until leeks are tender (about 10 to 15 minutes). Remove bay leaf, cloves and sprigs of fresh thyme before serving. Drain some liquid if leeks seem too watered down.
