Ingredients/Components
- self-rising flour - 5 c
- sugar - 1/4 c
- shortening - 3/4 c
- warm water - 1/3 c
- buttermilk - 2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Sift flour. Add sugar. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add butter, milk and yeast to flour, sugar and shortening mixture. Mix and place in refrigerator. Make out biscuits as needed. Do not allow to rise before baking. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until brown. This dough will keep for 2 weeks in refrigerator.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
