Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- warm water - 2 Tbsp
- active dry yeast - 1 pkg
- flour White Lily self-rising flour - 5 c
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. Stir together flour, sugar and baking soda and cut in shortening. Mix buttermilk and yeast water. Stir in flour mixture. Knead 4 to 5 times. Pat out to 1/4-inch thick. Place closely together on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
