Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • eggs, separated - 2 item
  • almond extract - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • crushed strawberries no juice - 2 c

How to make strawberry bread:

Cream together butter, sugar and extract. Add 2 egg yolks. Sift together dry ingredients. Alternate by adding flour and strawberries to creamed mixture, starting and ending with flour. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Pour into greased and waxed paper loaf pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean in a 350° oven.
