  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp
  • soft shortening part butter - 1 c
  • sugar, mixed with 2 Tbsp - 2 Tbsp

How to make snickerdoodles:

Mix the first 3 ingredients thoroughly. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Mix together until dough forms. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned, but still soft at 400° (8 to 10 minutes).
