Red and green coleslaw
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1/3 c
- cider vinegar - 3/4 c
- dry mustard - 2 tsp
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- green pepper, thinly sliced - 1 item
- head red cabbage, shredded - 1/2 item
- red pepper, thinly sliced - 1 item
- crushed celery seed
- head green cabbage, shredded - 1/2 item
- small red onion, peeled and thinly sliced - 1 item
How to make red and green coleslaw:
Combine oil, sugar and vinegar in small, non-aluminum saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Simmer for 5 minutes and add celery seed, mustard, salt and pepper. Remove from heat.Toss dressing with cabbage, onion and peppers. Chill, covered with plastic wrap, for at least 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Makes 10 to 12 servings.
