Peanut butter cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• brown sugar - 1 c
• soda
• shortening - 1 c
• peanut butter - 1 c
• eggs, well beaten - 2 item
• white sugar - 1 c
• flour plain - 3 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Mix white and brown sugar. Cream butter or shortening. Add sugars and cream well. Add eggs. Next, add vanilla and flour sifted together with salt and soda, then add peanut butter. Mix well and knead. Roll into balls about 3/4-inch across. Place 1-inch apart on greased pan. Press with fork lengthwise and crosswise. Bake at 400° for 7 to 10 minutes. Makes about 12 dozen.
