Ingredients/Components
- soft butter - 1/2 lb
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- poppy seed - 1 Tbsp
- Swiss cheese - 18 oz
- small chopped onion - 1 item
- Beau Monde - 1 tsp
- Italian or French bread - 1 item
How to make herb bread:
Mix soft butter, onion, dry mustard, poppy seed and Beau Monde together. Slice Italian or French bread in half lengthwise. Spread butter mixture on both halves. Top 1/2 with Swiss cheese (bottom). Place top on bottom half. Bake at 325° for 25 minutes (ovens may vary), wrapped in foil. Remove foil and bake 10 minutes more. Slice and serve. Serves approximately 10 to 12 people.
