German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- evaporated milk
- coconut
- unbaked pie shells - 2 item
How to make german chocolate pie:
Melt chocolate with butter over low heat, stirring until blended. Remove from heat. Gradually blend in milk. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt well in a separate bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla with sugar mixture. Gradually add to chocolate mixture. Pour into pie shells.Combine coconut and nuts; sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes or brown and puffed. (Filling will be soft but will set when cooled.) Cool 4 hours before cutting. Refrigerate it and it's great.
