- sugar - 4 oz
- flour - 18 oz
- butter - 6 oz
- baking soda
- raisins - 4 oz
- cream of tartar
- eggs 1 egg, add milk to get one full cup - 2 item
How to make english scones:
Mix cream of tartar, baking soda and flour; rub in butter with pastry fork. Add sugar and fruit. Mix egg (1) and milk and add to flour mixture until spongy. Form into 16 scones and brush with remaining egg. Bake at 375° for about 20 minutes.Note: Cut mixture in half twice; roll about 4-inch circle. Cut again into 4 pieces.
