  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • soda
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1 tsp

How to make gingersnaps:

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients and add. Roll into balls; dip tips in sugar and place on a cookie sheet. Do not flatten. Bake at 325° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
