Wilted lettuce salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- cider vinegar - 1/4 c
- leaf lettuce - 1 item
- sliced green onions - 1/2 c
- slices bacon - 6 item
- radishes, sliced - 6 item
- hard-cooked egg, chopped - 1 item
How to make wilted lettuce salad:
Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and crumble. Add onion to bacon drippings; cook over low heat until tender, about 3 minutes. Add vinegar, water, sugar, salt and bacon; cook and stir until boiling. Place lettuce in large salad bowl; pour hot dressing over lettuce and toss until well coated. Garnish with radish slices and chopped egg. Serves 6.
