Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- pepper to taste - 1 item
How to make white sauce:
Thick:2 Tbsp. butter2 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1/4 tsp. salt pepper to taste Melt butter in top of double boiler over boiling water or in a saucepan over low heat. Stir flour well into melted butter until the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Very slowly, add the milk to the butter and flour mixture, blending until smooth. Return to heat and cook slowly, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and looks smooth and glassy. Then season with salt and pepper.Recipe categories: Grains, Sauces, Condiments, etc..
