Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 3/4 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- whole wheat flour - 2 to
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
How to make wheat rolls:
Stir together white flour and yeast. Heat milk, water, oil, sugar and salt until very warm (120° to 130°; use candy thermometer). Add liquid all at once to flour-yeast mixture. Beat at medium speed of mixer until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add enough flour to form soft dough. Mix well (either by hand or use mixer). Let stand 12 to 15 minutes.Roll out on well floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with 2 1/2-inch round cutter. Shape into balls and place in greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Let rise in warm place for 30 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 15 to 18 minutes. Makes 28 to 30 rolls.
