Stir-fry pork
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- carrots - 1/2 lb
- hot cooked rice - 1 item
- fresh broccoli - 1/2 lb
- boneless pork - 1 lb
How to make stir-fry pork:
Cut pork into 1/8-inch strips. Cut broccoli stems into 1/8-inch thick slices and separate flowerets. Cut carrots into 1/8-inch diagonal slices. Combine water, soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch. Stir until free of lumps. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or electric skillet, using medium heat. Add broccoli stems and carrots. Cook and stir until vegetables are hot, but crisp, 2 to 3 minutes. Add broccoli flowerets. Cook 1 minute longer. Remove vegetables from wok or skillet. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Heat over high heat. Add pork strips, cook and stir 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add mixture of soy sauce, cornstarch and water. Cook until thickened. Add vegetables.
