Squash casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- stick melted butter - 1 item
- cornbread crumbs - 2 c
- to 7 large squash - 6 item
How to make squash casserole:
Wash squash and slice. Boil squash in pan along with 1/2 cup chopped onion, sugar, salt and pepper. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes; drain. Pour squash into casserole dish. Mash lightly. Add 1/2 of cornbread, egg, 1/2 melted butter and the rest of the onions. Mix. Pour the other half of the cornbread crumbs on top of casserole. Pour remaining butter on top of cornbread.
