Spicy red cabbage



Ingredients/Components
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- grated lemon rind - 1 tsp
- honey - 1 Tbsp
- caraway seed - 1 tsp
- unsweetened apple juice - 3/4 c
- clove garlic, finely minced - 1 item
- salt to taste - 1 item
- strong chicken broth - 3/4 c
- medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- head red cabbage, cut into strips core removed - 1 (2
- tart apple, peeled, cored and diced - 1 item
- apple cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- pinch of ground cloves - 1 item
- pinch of ground allspice - 1 item
How to make spicy red cabbage:
In a pot, bring the broth to a boil. Add the onion and garlic and cook, uncovered, over medium heat until soft, about 10 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer slowly for 40 minutes. Serve hot. Serves 8.Recipe categories: Low protein, Side dish, Vegetables.
